These Dubia roaches are about three months old. They have been fed only whole foods including fruits, vegetables, and grains. We do not feed them dog food, cat food, or anything like that. We pride ourselves on raising super healthy roaches that make great feeders and breeders. All they need to thrive are the right foods and living conditions. Whatever you end up using these for, you're starting with the healthiest stock.
Dubia roaches make great feeders for reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, and other insectivores. They're famous for their nutrition and gutloadability. Dubia roaches will eat a lot, which means you can fill them with lots of healthy food before feeding them off to your animals.
Default shipping is FREE via USPS First Class mail, and we also offer expedited shipping. See below for a description of mail services. Orders placed before the daily cut off ship that day. Orders placed after the cut-off ship the next business day.
Please read the following to maximize the chance of live arrival in hot or cold weather. We ship fast, so please keep an eye on tracking.
(1) if your temperature is between 40°F and 85°F, or.
(2) your temp is below 40°F or above 85°F and you get a heat/cool pack, post office hold, and pick up the day of delivery.
These things are important. If you do them and the roaches don't make it, we will refund the cost of the order minus shipping. If some make it and some don't, we can do a partial refund. If you choose not to do the things above, you're taking a risk. It may work out, but it may not.
A Post office hold is free. Your local post office will email you when your package arrives. We use your PayPal email, so let us know if you want us to enter a different one. A post office hold greatly increases the chance your Dubia will arrive alive in extreme temperatures.
Please be careful when it is very hot or cold (very = above 85°F or below 40°F). Buying Dubia and other tropical roaches involves risk, but they can be mitigated. We do all we can on our end, but there are things you may need to do on your end. These may include being aware of your weather forecast, choosing the right shipping method, heat or cooling packs, being home for delivery, post office hold, not letting the package sit overnight at the post office, etc.
When it's hot (particularly above 85°F): A post office hold is best. Cooling packs are second. The main cause of loss by far is (a) being out for delivery all day in the heat and (b) being left in a hot location (mail box, porch). If you avoid these two things, you avoid 90% of the risk.
When it's cold (particularly below freezing): A post office hold with heat pack is best, but it depends on how cold it is. When it's cold there are a few more ways for loss to occur, but it depends how cold it is. When it's very cold (near or below freezing), losses are usually caused by (a) sitting in a mailbox, uncollected, with no heat pack, (b) sitting in a post office overnight, uncollected, with no heat pack, and (c) being out for delivery all day with no heat pack. If it's 40°F, for example, you might get away with all of these things. If it's 20°F, you probably wouldn't get away with any of them.
If there is ever a problem with your order, please contact us directly. We'll see what we can do to resolve the issue. For live arrival claims, contact us within 2 hours of delivery. Send photos or video to confirm the condition of the roaches. If all the conditions are met, we will issue a refund for the price of the roaches, less shipping.
We're on the West Coast, so West coast-ish locations are usually 1-2 days. Midwest and some cities on the East Coast and South can be 2 days. If you live far away from a big city or mail distribution center, it could be 3 days.
Same general rules as above apply, but add an extra day, on average.
Please know your local and state laws. We don't ship Dubia roaches to Hawaii or Florida unless you have a state-issued permit. Sorry! If you have one, let us know.
